Born in Teliyajot, Basti district
Born on 22 October 1973 in the village of Teliyajot, in Basti district of eastern Uttar Pradesh, to Smt. Yashoda Devi and the late Shri Sadhu Sharan Dubey. The district is an intensively farmed part of the Gangetic plain bounded to the south by the Ghaghara.

Master of Arts in Political Science
Completed an M.A. in Political Science, studying at H.R.P.G. College, Khalilabad, under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University — the regional university that serves this part of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from Basti
Elected as Member of Parliament for the Basti constituency in the 2014 general election, with a margin of 33,562 votes — 3.20 per cent of votes polled. His term as a Member of the Lok Sabha formally began on 16 May 2014.
Basti is one of the eighty parliamentary constituencies of Uttar Pradesh and comprises five assembly segments: Harraiya, Kaptanganj, Rudhauli, Basti Sadar and Mahadewa.

Appointed to the Standing Committee on Energy
Joined the Departmentally Related Standing Committee on Energy, which examines the demands for grants, legislation and policy of the ministries responsible for power and new and renewable energy — a subject with direct bearing on rural electrification and agricultural pumping.

His service as a Member of the Lok Sabha concluded on 4 June 2024, at the end of the 17th Lok Sabha. He contested the Basti seat again in the 2024 general election and was not returned.

In July 2024 he was appointed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Prabhari — state in-charge — for Assam, an organisational responsibility for the party unit in that state.

Appointed National General Secretary
On 17 August 2026 he was appointed a National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, as part of the party’s national office bearers’ team. He had earlier served as a National Secretary of the party.
